Turkish Finger Foods Chicken shawarma is one of my favorite street food in Turkey. You may or may not be familiar with it, so let’s start with what is chicken shawarma.
Traditional Turkish Finger Foods shawarma is basically well marinated chicken, placed in a vertical steakhouse or where it is slowly fried for days – in its own juice and fat – until it is perfectly soft and extra tasty! To serve, the co-owner typically shaves a layer of shawarma out of spit and puts it in a pocket of pita, liven it up with tahini sauce, and piles it on piles of fresh sauce!
I’m telling you, Chicken shawarma is the essence of seductive Turkish delicacies. And the good news is that I’ll tell you about an easy way to make it at home with the same authentic flavors.

Ingredients for Homemade Meat Doner Recipe Like Ready Made
or this delicious and healthy meat doner, I used the meat I put in the freezer during. After I took the meat out of the freezer, I waited for it to thaw a little. However, it is very important not to defrost the meat too much at this point because we have to cut the meat into very thin leaves and it is easier to do this when the meat is still icy. We take the finely chopped meat in a bowl and grate 1 onion on it. Grating the onion allows it to release its juice, allowing it to penetrate the meat more. We crush 2 cloves of garlic and add it to the meat. Adding oil and spices, we mix it by hand. We put the meats we have prepared in a bag in the mixing bowl and put them in the refrigerator to rest and absorb the marinating thoroughly. If you have time, it will be great if you rest it in the refrigerator for 5-6 hours.
When the resting process is over, we take our meats in a non-stick pan heated without adding oil. However, it is important that the ceiling is well warmed. Since we already use oil in marinating meats, there is no need to add oil to the pan again.
We turn the meats in the pan quickly over medium heat. The meats will cook right away, there is no need to hold them in the pan and harden them too much. When the meat turns brown and slightly browned in places, we add half a tablespoon of butter to the pan and mix it like this. You can cover the bottom of the pan when you add the butter.
If you want to make a wrap, you can use heated lavash bread.
I prepared a salad with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and lots of onions to use in the wrap, with just a little olive oil added. It turns into lavash breads and I put it in lots of salad and we ate it with pleasure. It was no different from ready-made doner with a delicious buttermilk beside it. Of course, it is also an effort to be healthy and clean :)))
I definitely recommend you to try it, you will love it.
Bon appetit to all of you, and I wish you healthy days.
